Our Mission
The mission of Crichton College is to provide a biblically oriented
education emphasizing the liberal arts and career preparation. All
elements
of the curriculum are integrated to impart to students a Christian
worldview
and to focus on occupational preparedness, a broad understanding of the
arts
sciences, and a personal evangelical faith.
Our History
Crichton began in 1941 as a Bible training center, expanded to a Bible
Institute in 1948, and became a four-year Bible College in 1960. As
Mid-South Bible College, it was first accredited by the American
Association
of Bible Colleges in 1971 and subsequently by the Commission on Colleges
of
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1986. Reflecting its
new
comprehensive and liberal arts nature, the college changed its name to
Crichton College in 1987. The College is now located at its new campus,
255
North Highland in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee.
