Outstanding international reputation in business, research & academia. A degree from Illinois Institute of Technology is quite prestigious.  IIT
graduates have made a huge impact on our world.  Examples include:  The invention and development of magnetic recording (Marvin Camras), the cell phone (Marty Cooper), Pop-Tarts, Silly Putty, and confirmation of the hole
in the ozone layer (Susan Solomon).  IIT Architects have designed many world renowned buildings, some of which include the John Hancock Center, the O' Hare United Airlines Terminal, Lake Point Tower, the new Soldier Field (Home of the Chicago Bears), and IIT's own S.R. Crown Hall, one of the 200 most important architectural achievements of the 20th Century.

High graduate placement rate. Over the past 6 years, IIT graduates have a 94% placement rate (attained jobs or graduate program admission within 6 months).  Also, IIT graduates typically receive starting salaries that are higher than the national average.  Few universities in the world can claim such success.  Through IIT 's Interprofessional Projects Program (IPROS) and numerous internship and co-op opportunities, students have ample opportunities to gain the
beneficial real-world learning and problem-solving skills necessary for the workforce.

Numerous scholarship opportunities. IIT is a private school with a substantial amount of merit scholarships and financial aid options.  These options allow students a chance to afford a prestigious, private school education and degree.  In the past, several homeschoolers have been awarded some of IIT's top awards including a Camras Scholarship which ranges from 3/4 tuition to full-tuition and room.

Small class size and individual attention. Perhaps the biggest draw for homeschoolers at IIT are the small class sizes that provide the personal attention and individual instruction that such students are comfortable with and familiar to.  26% of classes have fewer than 10 students while 85% of classes have fewer than 40 students.  Because of the 12-1 student/faculty ratio, IIT's professors are often able to include students in cutting edge research.  Likewise, 98% of the faculty hold doctorate/terminal degrees and actively teach both introductory and advance courses.  This is quite different from most universities, where
teaching assistant instructors are the norm for introductory courses and undergraduate  research opportunities are scarce.
