Goshen College believes
that knowledge about the world is a vital part of
education, and too important to be left to book learning.
Since it began in 1968, our Study-Service Term (SST)
has sent more than 6,500 students abroad to live with,
learn from and work alongside residents of 18
countries. While challenging students academically, SST’s
emphasis on personal connections with and service among
the people of other nations creates a distinctive
experience that can lead to lifetime learning.
But international education need not occur only abroad.
More than 10 percent of Goshen students annually
represent more than 30 countries outside of the U.S. and
Canada and more than half of our faculty members have
lived or worked abroad, lending an international flavor to
everyday life on campus.
