Rose State College is a state-funded two-year college that grants associate degrees and provides comprehensive lower-division programs. The College offers coursework in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Science, Health Sciences, and Business and Information Technology.

Many resources are available to students through the Learning Resources Center, an integrated system of library, audiovisual, instructional design, tutoring, distance learning and testing services. Outside the classroom, students can get involved in over 40 clubs and organizations.

Rose State College welcomes home schooled students to campus, such as Matthew Halsted, a freshman liberal studies major.

"Rose State College is the place to be! I chose to go to school at Rose State because I know a lot of people who are students there and they all have said good things about the College," Halsted said. "I also chose Rose State College because the campus is small and conveniently located and the people are very student friendly. Dr. Nancy Lee was my instructor for an English Comp. I class and she went the extra mile to see that her students were successful in class," he said. "I received an 'A' in the course and I'm taking her again for English Comp. II."
