President's
Message
Wilberforce
University was established during one of the most tumultuous
times in American history. From our pre-Civil War beginnings,
our institution has had an eye to the future, serving as a
beacon of hope for those who had little, but wanted to
contribute
much. We strike a distinctive note in the realm of higher
education emphasizing the ideals and aspirations of those who
have achieved success in spite of tremendous odds.
Our unique history adds a special significance to the
educational experience obtained here by our students. Tradition
has served us well and we must build on our proud heritage. As
we swiftly approach the 21st century, Wilberforce University
strives to offer the quality education which will provide
America and the world with global minded, critical-thinking,
knowledgeable future leaders who have a passion for service.
When you begin the pursuit of academic excellence at Wilberforce
University, you become part of a great legacy. It is my hope
that you will fully experience the spirit and pride of the
'Force and share our optimistic vision of the future and what is
possible for you and for Wilberforce University. Remember, the
journey you begin here can take you anywhere you want to go!
