Sarah Lawrence College is Homeschooler Friendly! When Sarah Lawrence College, one of the top thirty national liberal arts colleges (U.S. News and World Report, America's Best Colleges, 1997) opened its doors in 1928, it revolutionized the liberal arts education. Instead of offering students a prescribed body of material in lecture format, Sarah Lawrence offered something wholly different: small classes, individual meetings with faculty, and an educational approach that focused on each students' needs. Today, Sarah Lawrence champions the commitment to providing an academic setting where every student receives the personal, intellectual and creative support needed for her or his best development. Students come to Sarah Lawrence from nearly every state and approximately 20 foreign countries each year. About 30 percent study abroad, many in the College's own programs in Oxford, Paris and Florence and at the British American Drama Academy in London. Admissions are selective; we seek inquisitive and self-motivated students who demonstrate a clear love affair with learning.
