SBU is a four-year liberal arts university
that was established in 1878. The main campus is located about 30
minutes north of Springfield, Mo. in Bolivar, a town of 9,200 people.
 Southwest Baptist welcomes applications from any perspective student who qualifies to the standards set forth by the administration. The admission policy is based on transcripts and ACT/SAT scores. The University includes the following:
Several academic and extracurricular student organizations help to enhance SBU student life. Examples of these organizations are PBL, SGA, FCA, SIFE, SBU Chorale, Alpha Chi, MENC and Debate. Opportunities for one or more semesters of study in England, Hong Kong, Ireland, Korea or Spain, as well as all CCCU related programs are available to all students who attend SBU. This is a great way to extend horizons and build upon the educational experience. About 3,700 students, including about 1,000 graduate students, attend classes at Southwest Baptist on its four campuses. Degree granting sites include Bolivar, Mountain View, Salem and Springfield. Students are served by more than 400 faculty and staff members on all four campuses. More than 70 percent of full-time faculty holds terminal degrees in their fields. The ratio of student/faculty is 17:1. More than 1,700 undergraduate students attend classes at the Bolivar campus with more than 1,000 undergraduate students taking classes at the off-campus sites. These academic
