Trinity
Hall is the campus administrative building, including admissions.
This is the place to start your visit to campus.
At the center of University of Saint Francis’
rolling and wooded Spring Street campus is tranquil Mirror Lake.
Trees shade the lake, as they do the entire campus, a safe and
friendly oasis of education and student life on the outskirts of
Fort Wayne. |
The heart of the
university’s mission is as enduring as Mirror Lake:
- To provide students from all walks of life with a complete
education at a reasonable price.
- To help form a life-long dedication to learning.
- To assist in creating the religious, moral and ethical
values that form a commitment to the local and global
communities.
University of Saint Francis offers you so many benefits.
Here are just a few of them:
- An education which will last a lifetime. Students benefit
from their professors, many of whom work in their fields
off-campus. They bring to class their real-world experience.
- Your job placement counseling begins as soon as you start
classes, and continues through your college career and even
beyond.
- University of Saint Francis is committed to making a quality
education affordable. Scholarships, grants, and other forms of
financial aid are available.
- University of Saint Francis, with its dedicated faculty and
staff, and close-knit student body, is more than a school. For
our students,
it can be a great way of life.
Enrollment
Approximately 1,700 students, including some 250 graduate
students. Students enjoy a low student-teacher ratio. More than
half the students are women, and approximately 35 percent of
full-time undergraduate students live on-campus. The majority of
students are from Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio, with
students from many other states and foreign countries. Students
represent many religious faiths, philosophies and ethnic
backgrounds.
Tradition upon which to build
Founded in 1890 by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual
Adoration, University of Saint Francis adopted a four-year,
liberal arts curriculum in 1937. It moved to the 70-acre Fort
Wayne campus in 1944, the former estate of industrialist John H.
Bass. The historic Bass Mansion, stately and castle-like, now
houses the school’s Library, where students study amid
architectural splendor.
University of Saint Francis offers more than 30 major academic
programs, as well as several minors. Approximately 1,700 graduate
and undergraduate students enjoy a low student-teacher ratio,
ensuring each student receives the academic attention he or she
needs.
Faculty members dedicate their careers to excellent teaching in
small-class settings. Some 60 percent of full-time faculty have
doctorate or other terminal degrees in their specialized areas.
Our staff members help students in applying for a wide range of
scholarships, grants, loans and other sources of financial
assistance.
