Pine Jog Environmental Education Center, College of
Education, Florida Atlantic University, has just announced it will be
offering 30 prestigious Arthur R. Marshall Fellowships beginning January
2001 and students are invited to submit an application. Arthur R. Marshall, (1919-1985), devoted his life to
protection and enhancement of the natural resources and environment of
Florida. For over 30 years he was a leading figure in virtually
every public issue that had to do with preserving the natural systems of
Florida, especially South Florida. He was officially recognized by
Governor Bob Graham and Cabinet of the State of Florida as a great and
distinguished Floridian with a record and vision of environmental service
and protection. As the recipient of this prestigious award, you will
receive $2,500 over the two-year program and earn up to six hours of
college credit. You will have an opportunity to gain valuable insights
into South Florida’s growth management issues and environmental issues,
develop your own related community project, and receive valuable
leadership skills. During the second year, you will serve as a
mentor to middle school age students, identifying growth management and
environmental issues, and coming up with sustainable solutions for those
issues. For more information, fill in and submit the form
below.
