California Baptist University provides a welcoming environment for college students who have been home-schooled. Our small classes and caring faculty and staff enable our home-schooled students to make a successful transition to college.

Home-schooled students interested in attending California Baptist University should submit a completed application, SAT I or ACT scores, and official high school transcripts or General Education Diploma or State Proficiency Exam. Many home-schooled students accumulate credit at community colleges during their high school years; individuals with 30 transferable credits and a GPA above 2.0 qualify for admittance without SAT or ACT scores and high school transcripts.

Founded in 1950, California Baptist University is affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention and is fully accredited. CBU's 80-acre campus reflects the Southern California environment, with towering palm trees, mission style buildings, and a spectacular view of the nearby San Bernardino Mountains and is the only Southern Baptist college or university on the West Coast.

Dr. Herrity's Class As a Christian institution, the University expects students to take seriously the institution's commitment to strong academic and spiritual values.

Academically, it seeks to promote high scholastic standards, imparting a general knowledge of the natural world, the history and institutions of human society, and to assist students in choosing and learning an area of specialization for their life's work.

During the university experience, students are encouraged to participate in mission activities in an ongoing basis to develop a ministry lifestyle. Ministry opportunities in the past have included mission trips abroad, activities for the homeless, graffiti cleanup and work with troubled youth.
